Construction at 65 and Chestnut is causing a lot of noise, a lane closure, and concerns from local business owners.

Jimmi Yarbrough and her husband own Steve’s Scuba right where the construction is.

Yarbrough says being less one lane has been hard.

“It’s put a bottle neck on things.”

Right now, only one lane is open going east.

MoDOT says the project is to build a bridge at the intersection. There is no set completion date for the project.

“It is unnerving that there is no end date there but we’re hoping and praying that it goes quick,” says Yarbrough.

MoDOT says the warm weather has helped workers get ahead on the project.

Yarbrough is hopeful that in the end, the construction will help the flow of traffic.

“I hope the benefits will be good in our favor, anyway,” she says.
