Award-winning multimedia journalist Leonard Horton joined the MSU Media, Journalism and Film team in the fall of 2013. He comes to Springfield, Missouri from Tallahassee, Florida, where he spent years working as a reporter, fill-in news anchor, documentary producer, photographer and journalism educator. Leonard’s additional duties at MSU include serving as the adviser of Ozarks News Brief, a live webcast which airs weekly via Livestream, as well as serving as adviser to The Black Bear, which produces news catered to Missouri State University’s African-American student body. During the fall 2015 / spring 2016 academic year, Horton served as the academic production adviser for the newly created initiative between ESPN 3-HD, The Missouri Valley Conference and Missouri State University.

Paul Katona serves as the engineer and technical adviser for Ozarks News Brief. Additional duties include teaching courses in television production and special topics in media. Paul brings years of experience from the field of broadcasting and technology. His leadership has helped launch Media, Journalism and Film students into successful careers across the nation.
